Political opponent Ousmane Sonko was sentenced to two years' imprisonment on 1 June 2023 for "corruption of youth" in the case against Adji Sarr, a former employee of a beauty salon. As the charge of rape, for which Sonko was due to appear in court, was not upheld, we would have expected the judges to dismiss the case, i.e. to acquit Sonko outright. But no! Instead, he was sentenced to two years' imprisonment on a less serious charge, which no longer made any sense given that the rape had been dismissed. In other words, he was convicted of something of which he was not accused. Why? Quite simply because this conviction makes him ineligible for the presidential election in February 2024, which is very convenient for the dictator Macky Sall and his gang of corrupts who want to flout the constitution and make their gang leader run for a third presidential term.

Why is justice so twisted in our country? Justice should be dispensed in the name of the people, not in the name of the President of the Republic. So that's where Macky Sall and his lazy, corrupt clique have brought Senegal today. Nothing works. Everything is theft, plunder, lies, corruption, with the lion's share given over to foreigners, especially the Chinese and other Asians. It is Macky Sall who should be condemned for the "corruption of youth", because he has turned corruption into a means of governing. In our country, honest work no longer pays and is no longer a means of social advancement, but theft, lies and embezzlement of public funds very quickly propel you to the top of society and earn you praise, congratulations and admiration.

From nursery school to higher education, the teaching is rubbish, and the parchments issued in higher education don't even have the value of toilet paper. How else can we explain to the Senegalese people that we have polytechnics and it's foreigners who are building our roads? What's so difficult about building a road? How can we explain to the Senegalese people that we have digital universities and it's foreign companies that are flooding the Senegalese digital landscape? For example, all online payment methods in Senegal belong to the Chinese. The same Chinese who are plundering Senegalese maritime waters, Senegalese forests, Senegalese gold and iron mines and polluting Senegalese rivers! To find a job in his own country, every young Senegalese has to go and bow down to a foreigner. Macky Sall, you are exterminating the Senegalese people. You're robbing them of their dignity and you're corrupting their youth.

Macky Sall, what is your record after 10 years as Senegal's master dictator? There are no schools, no secondary schools, no universities, no hospitals worthy of the name. No complicated surgical operation can be performed in Senegal. You and your clique know this well, which is why you and your families seek treatment abroad. What head of state worthy of the name seeks treatment in a foreign country? By the way, there is no water or electricity in Senegal. Macky Sall, please leave!

Ousmane Sonko is a great patriot and a man of integrity who is fighting for the well-being of the Senegalese people. His noble aim is to give the Senegalese people back their dignity, which has been trampled underfoot by Macky Sall, his administration and his government, who are on the verge of organised crime. Senegalese, to achieve the goals that Ousmane Sonko has set for our country, he needs the support of each and every one of us, and he richly deserves it. As for us, the authors of this article, we have only one regret: that Ousmane Sonko did not appear earlier on the national political scene.
